Manuae has been discovered by Capt. Cook in 1873 and named Hervey Island.
The renamed Island consists of the two Motus (islets) Manuai and Teaotu.

Regular access to this beautiful island is provided by Pacific Expeditions Ltd.
They own and operate the Research Vessel Bounty Bay, based on Rarotonga.

All divers, bird watchers, photographers etc who search for adventures on
an uninhabited island are welcome to put their names on the list for the next
Manuae voyage. The R/V Bounty Bay started tourists trips to Manuae late in
2005. In 2007 Pacific Expeditions is planning to run daily trips to Manuae in a
joint-venture with Air Rarotonga and the tour operators in Aitutaki.
